The Green Prize of the Americas 2006, which will be awarded at the solemn opening  of this meeting, will be the result of observations and research at the international level, to honor personalities and institutions that have, over the years, contributed to the development and environmental preservation of the planet. Just one personality or institution in each category will receive the prize. The categories in which Prize will be presented are:

 

  • Sustainable Development;

  • Forests and Biodiversity;

  • Human Rights;

  • Hydric Resources;

  •  Environmental Law;

  • Urban Environmental Management;

  • Environmental Diplomacy;

  •  Journalism;

  • Biotechnology;

  • Climate Changes;

  • Environmental Education and Research;
