Main facts of the III Green Meeting of the Americas 2003.

Rio de Janeiro hosted the III Green Meeting of the Americas, a disputed and important socio-environmental event, gathering a select group of authorities and governmental and non-governmental personalities from various continents.

The III Green Meeting of the Americas was held this past September 8th, 9th, and 10th, in the BNDES convention center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

From its opening, with the offering of the Green Prize of the Americas, it was possible to measure the dimension and success of the event, that filled two auditoriums, the conference’s official plenary and another auditorium with a live broadcast of seminars and pronouncements by ambassadors, among other diplomats.  This happened during the three days of the Meeting, when several people were not able to enter to watch the conference.
